Tricktech’s Barrel band for the Benjamin Akela
is a precision machined add-on to stabilize the free floating barrel assembly to help improve durability and accuracy of the firearm.
The Benjamin Akela isalready a precision instrument but lacks what most people consider a necessary component, a barrel band. Through normal handling and use scenarios like hunting or plinking, the free floating barrel assembly on the rifle is potentially susceptible to flexing and potential damage. Protecting the rifle from damage is important, but additionally the band stabilizes the barrel during the firing process making what many people claim to be an extremely accurate air rifle even more consistent.
To accomplish this, the Tricktech Barrel Band for the Akela is machined from 6061 T6 billet aluminum using modern CNC equipment and manufacturing processes. With tight tolerances, it is designed to fit precisely and supply uniform support with minimal tension required thus reducing the potential of damage or misalignment to your rifle or damage from an impact moving or sliding the band during normal use.
Design elements were incorporated in an effort to compliment the already beautiful aesthetics of the Akela. Bringing protection and functionality to the rifle does not mean it had to look out of place. To finish the process, Type III Anodizing has been utilized to give the Barrel Band an extremely strong and durable coating that provides for years of service without showing signs of wear from normal use.
No other Barrel Band for the Akela brings this much to the table!
Tricktech strives to provide products that go beyond – to provide a premium solution and ownership experience that exceeds customer expectations. The Tricktech Benjamin Akela Barrel Band is no exception.

Tricktech Barrel Band for the Benjamin Akela Installation Instructions
Cleaning the surface of your Akela prior to installation is an important step to minimize the risk of damage or wear of the rifle surfaces over time.
Cleaning with your preferred choice of gun cleaners to remove any dust or dirt is adequate to minimize the risk of damage. If you choose a cleaner that does not leave a protective layer behind, we recommend a light application of gun oil. For this reason, CLP products are the recommended method.
M3 threads are more than adequate to provide a secure mount for your barrel band, but they are very fine and should NOT be overtightened.
Equally important is applying equal tension to both screws. Alternately applying torque from side to side until the desired screw tension is achieved.
15 in/lbs is more than adequate with the thread locker that comes pre-installed on your mounting screws. If the band is removed and reinstalled, it is recommended that the thread-locker be re-applied.
Vibra-Tite Red was the product originally applied and is the preferred product. Loc-Tite Blue can also be used. Use of a more permanent thread locker like Loc-Tite Red is fine, but be aware that with stronger products, heat must be applied to remove the screws if used.
The barrel band is designed to restore and maintain the proper gap between the air cylinder and the floating barrel. MOVEMENT IS EXPECTED
Through even light handling of the rifle, the Akela is often gripped across the barrel and cylinder, or around the fore-end and barrel. Due to the weight of the rifle itself, inevitably the barrel will become “tweaked” toward the cylinder. The band is designed to protect from this in the future, and restores the original alignment at installation.
Re-zeroing the rifle is also EXPECTED as a result of restoring this alignment.

Light upward pressure on the barrel should allow for the band to seat fully between the barrel and cylinder.
